En una casona llamada Pabellón 83 -construida en 1915, donde alguna vez vivieron apiñadas 20 familias mineras de Lota Alto, hoy declarada Monumento Nacional- el 20 de agosto a las 11:00 horas el periodista Nelson Muñoz lanzó “Huellas de una herida: los cuatro fusilados de Lota”.

Es una obra de 200 páginas, integrada por fotografías y testimonios de 18 entrevistados que relatan la vida y muerte de Isidoro Carrillo Tornería (presidente de la Empresa Nacional del Carbón), Danilo González Mardones (alcalde de Lota), Vladimir Araneda Contreras (dirigente del Colegio de Profesores) y Bernabé Cabrera Neira (presidente del sindicato de Celulosa Arauco).
Los cuatro militaban en el Partido Comunista de Chile. Eran dirigentes con trayectoria social y raigambre popular en Lota.  En la ciudad, aún se comenta que tras el Golpe Político-Militar de 1973 y mal aconsejados por el oficial de Carabineros Gastón Elgueta -un tipo “demasiado” cercano a ellos- se entregaron en forma voluntaria.
Un gesto tan ingenuo como inútil porque tras una parodia de Consejo de Guerra fueron enviados al paredón.
En rigor, se les ejecutó para amedrentar a la población ya que no se les pudo adjudicar relación con la farsa del denominado Plan Zeta ni menos aún con una supuesta resistencia militar a la asonada fascista que no tuvo masiva oposición armada por cuanto el gobierno de la Unidad Popular rechazó todo intento serio de armar a los trabajadores.
 Solo bastan dos pruebas para tal aseveración:
En 1972 Allende aprobó -sin veto- la Ley de Control de Armas reformada a su gusto por los golpistas de la DC y la Derecha, utilizada por los milicos para allanar grandes industrias. Además, no defendió a los centenares de marinos constitucionalistas detenidos por la Armada en agosto de 1973. Ellos se oponían a los sediciosos e informaron al gobierno sobre los planes de la oficialidad que conspiraba a bordo de los buques.
Sobre al autor
Nelson Muñoz Mera es un periodista y reportero gráfico titulado en la Escuela de Periodismo de la Universidad Concepción. En la actualidad se desempeña como académico de esa casa de estudios superiores en la citada escuela.

Al centro, el autor del libro, entre Gorky y Vasili Carillo, hijos de Isidoro Carrillo Tornería.
Fue editor de Fotografía en revista Hoy, Fortín Mapocho, La Nación y la Vicaría de la Solidaridad. Es coautor del libro “El Golpe en Valparaíso” que escribió con el destacado periodista y escritor Manuel Salazar y “El legado suizo en la Araucanía”, entre otras obras.
Contexto histórico
Durante siglo 20 las minas de carbón de Lota y Coronel -de propiedad de la multimillonaria familia Cousiño- constituyeron un rudo epicentro de luchas proletarias. Hubo masivas huelgas por mejoras salariales, sindicales y condiciones de vida que fueron sofocadas a sangre y fuego en 1907, 1920, 1925, 1947, 1960, 1965 y 1967.
Incluso en la gran huelga de septiembre de 1925, el Presidente Arturo Alessandri envió al acorazado Almirante Latorre –a la sazón el más grande de América Latina (31 mil toneladas)- a la bahía de Coronel para que sus gigantescos cañones intimidaran a la población civil. Obviamente el Ejército también fue mandado, varias veces, a la “zona roja” a enfrentar a los trabajadores desarmados.
Sólo durante el gobierno de la Unidad Popular los mineros tuvieron tres años de respiro con la estatización total de los yacimientos con la Empresa Nacional de Carbón lo cual implicó autogestión obrera, mejoras laborales y se garantizó el suministro nacional.
Los yacimientos fueron cerrados en forma definitiva en 1997. Culminaron así, con más pena que gloria, 150 años de explotación con un saldo aproximado de 1.500 trabajadores fallecidos en accidentes y 50 asesinados por la represión.

 “Huellas de una herida: los cuatro fusilados de Lota” también será lanzado en Concepción, el 2 de septiembre a las 19.00 horas en el Club La Unión (Castellón 560) y en Santiago, el 8 de octubre a las 19.00 horas en el Museo de la Memoria y los Derechos Humanos (Matucana 501).
