Daniel Jadue y la Vendetta Sionista

En su primera entrevista desde que salió de prisión, concedida a Pablo Iglesias, Daniel Jadue denuncia una operación de «lawfare» conducida por prominentes figuras del sionismo local: «Aquí hay una vendetta que no sé cómo no le ha podido llamar la atención a la Fiscalía”.

Es nieto de inmigrantes palestinos. Sus abuelos llegaron a Chile desde la ciudad palestina de Beit Yala (Belén) en 1920. Se instalaron en el barrio Patronato, de Recoleta, que aún a día de hoy se conoce como el barrio palestino de Santiago y que alberga a buena parte de la comunidad palestina chilena. Es por ello que en su casa los acontecimientos políticos en Palestina se seguían con especial atención: “Yo no recuerdo ninguna reunión familiar en la que no se hablara de la ocupación”, señala Jadue durante la entrevista.

Con apenas 11 años y coincidiendo con la invasión de Israel del Líbano, Jadue comenzó a militar en organizaciones palestinas y poco a poco fue entendiendo que lo que estaba sucediendo en Chile, inmerso en plena dictadura pinochetista, no distaba mucho de lo que sucedía en Palestina:

«Cuando se produce el golpe de Estado en Chile empiezo a escuchar cosas muy similares a las que pasaban en Palestina y extrañamente los que estaban detrás eran los mismos: el imperialismo norteamericano y el capitalismo internacional”.

Sin embargo, hubo un acontecimiento que decantó su militancia política, los Acuerdos de Oslo.

Esta serie de acuerdos, firmados en 1993 entre el Gobierno de Israel de Isaac Rabin y la Organización para la Liberación de Palestina de Yasser Arafat, fueron para muchos una capitulación en la defensa de los derechos del pueblo palestino. Jadue hizo la misma lectura, y tras la firma de los acuerdos abandonó formalmente el Frente Popular para la Liberación de Palestina y empezó a militar en el Partido Comunista Chileno.

Pero si hay un lugar que ha forjado la identidad política de Jadue, ese es el barrio de Recoleta de Santiago de Chile.

En esa comuna situada al otro lado del río Mapocho se instaló su familia huyendo de Palestina, allí nació y creció Daniel, y Recoleta es el municipio del que ha sido alcalde los últimos 12 años.

Con amplios apoyos populares (41% en 2012, 56% en 2016 y 64% en 2021), Jadue implementó una serie de políticas públicas enormemente exitosas: la Farmacia Popular, la Óptica Popular, Escuelas Abiertas, Salud en tu Barrio, Inmobiliaria Popular, la Universidad Abierta de Recoleta, la librería Popular «Recoletras», la Energía Popular, el dentista popular, una empresa de vivienda municipal, entre otras.

El proyecto estrella de su gestión, las conocidas como “Farmacias populares”, con el que se ofrecían medicamentos asequibles como alternativa a los que ofrecían las grandes cadenas comerciales, fue tan exitoso que se extendió a nivel nacional y más de 170 comunas en Chile de distinto signo político adoptaron la iniciativa.

Como consecuencia, tal y como señala Jadue durante la entrevista, el modelo que implantaron en Recoleta “despertó a los monstruos y enemigos más grandes que uno puede tener”.

Daniel Jadue fue acusado de una serie de delitos económicos por su gestión de las Farmacias Populares y la jueza decretó su ingreso en prisión de forma preventiva que posteriormente fue sustituido por un arresto domiciliario que todavía sigue vigente.

La empresa querellante, Best Quality Products, que había vendido a la Asociación de Municipalidades con Farmacias Populares productos sanitarios a precios inflados aprovechando la emergencia sanitaria de la pandemia, les reclamaba 1.000 millones de pesos.

Sin embargo, la Fiscalía no tuvo en cuenta como eximente de responsabilidad el que desde la alcaldía se hubiesen ejercido acciones para prevenir un mal mayor como consecuencia de la pandemia. Tampoco tuvo en cuenta, que algunos de los querellantes habían sido condenados por estafa años antes, ni los vínculos que tenían con empresas afectadas por las políticas públicas aplicadas en Recoleta.

Además, hay otra cosa que Jadue no conoció hasta después de haber salido de prisión y que revela en la entrevista con Pablo Iglesias:

«Los socios de Best Quality son prominentes miembros de la comunidad sionista de Chile. Aquí hay una vendetta», denuncia.

Y como en todo caso de lawfare, nada de esto hubiera sido posible sin la colaboración de los medios de comunicación, que en el caso chileno están hegemonizados por la derecha:

«La guerra jurídica parte de un asedio de los medios que en mi caso lleva más de 10 años en marcha. De este modo te conviertes, entre comillas, en un ‘delincuente’, y te acaban juzgando de manera previa y eso impacta en todo el proceso judicial”.

Preguntado sobre el estado de salud de la justicia chilena, Jadue es prudente, pero su respuesta no deja lugar a dudas:

“No sé si alguien en Chile podría decir que la justicia funciona y que la ley es igual para todos.”
